Jaume Mestres Angla (Manresa 1964)

Resident near Barcelona

From family tradition he has inherited much of the knowledge and techniques on pictorial materials and, simultaneously, a great sensibility. He studied at the Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universitat de Barcelona, where he specialized in painting. In 1991 he was given a scholarship for the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts de París.

Besides pictorial art, his professional life covers a long list of work and experiences. Tradition and craft, along with experimentation, become the basis of innovation and philosophy for painting in its contemporary art aspect.

Member of the Patronato and the Consejo Editorial de la Fundació Mestres Cabanes. Member of l’Ass. d’artistes visuals de la Catalunya central.

Academic training:

Pictorial training with Jan Voss at L’École Nationale des Beaux Arts de París. 

Artistic training with specialty in painting with Ferran García Castillo, Xavier Grau  and Hernández Pijuan at the Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universitat de Barcelona.

Yogic training with the honorable Swami Satyananda Saraswati.
