Jaume Mestres Angla
(Manresa, 1964)

From his family tradition he has inherited much of his knowledge and many of his techniques in terms of painting materials, as well as a great sensitivity. He studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona, where he specialized in painting. In 1991 he received a bursary to go to the National School of Fine Arts in Paris.

As well as pictorial art, his professional career has carried out a long list of work and experiences including graphic workshops, chromatism, stage design, restoration, decoration and photography. Tradition and craftmanship became the backbone of his contemporary art, along with experimentation, innovation and philosophy. Jaume Mestres has held exhibitions in different venues and galleries since 1989. His works can be found in various private collections, largely in Europe.
